Task bar

Sometimes, but certainly not all the time, my task bar
disappears. This only seems to happen when I come out of
hibernation. When it does it is extremely annoying. For
example I cannot go offline without shutting down, and
this is not always what I want to do.
I have tried clicking Ctrl + esc the start menu appears
but no task bar. I have lock the taskbar checked,
autohide unchecked, taskbar on top checked, show quick
launch checked.
Any sugestions welcome,

Hi Robin,

I had similiar problems way back using Win98. I found out that my
soundcard wasn't ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface),
complaint. This caused many problems with my computer coming out of
standby. It would lock up my system and my taskbar would disappear. I
would assume most new hardware today is complaint but I would check your
BIOS and any older hardware you may have just in case.
Sorry I cannot offer anything more but it just sounded so familiar I
figured I would write.
