disappearing task bar

Sometimes, but certainly not all the time, on coming out
of hibernation with win XP I find the task bar has
disappeared. Everything has vanisished - from the start
button to the clock. The only way to get it back is to
reboot, which is not always convenient. I hav ethe
follwing buttons checked 1. Taskbar locked 2. Taskbar on
top 3. Show quick launch. Autohide is unchecked.
Any suggestions please. Thx.

Hi Robin,

When this happens, go to the Task Manager and end process on explorer.exe.
Leave the Task Manager open then go to File/New
Task and type in explorer.exe

Restore the Taskbar to Default Functionality (Line 164)
