Tall/Skinny MPEG2 playback in WMP...

Hello, all..

I have a peculiar problem with WMP9....playing back some MPEG files,
and noticing they're "squished" horizontally - that is, they're tall
and skinny. Its not a huge problem, because other playback tools play
the video correctly, so I guess it could be a codec problem, but it
just didn't make sense since they played correctly elsewhere..other
video captured on the same box plays normally..

WinXP Pro, WMP 9, Moonlight MPEG codec....

Suggestions/thoughts/ideas??

I have seen this behaviour in Software mode.

What is the setting at:
Tools->Options->Performance->Video Acceleration

Is it set to the recommended Full Acceleration mode ?

Yes, it is set for full acceleration. Any other ideas? It almost looks
like the player has reversed the aspect ratio, that is, it appears to
be 3:4 rather than 4:3...
