System tray

installed Windows XP sevice pack 2 about a week ago and everything seems to
work fine but am getting the windows defauld "critical stop" sound when
booting. .. i think it's when items in system tray are loading. . .how can i
determine which one? i looked in "start up" but there is only one icon there

You need to go into Control Panel | Sounds and Audio Devices, select the
Sounds tab and determine what is set to *Critical*.wav (depending on what
scheme you are using).

First click on Critical Stop, and select the play button to determine if
that is indeed the sounds you hear.
Then see what else is set to that event sound.

Hello, i did that already. . checked all s hemes (only two) Windows default
and mine. . .no listed program has that sound assigned to it. . what else3
can i check? thanks
