System Tray Notification Icon

Hi There,

I'm running Vista.

All of a sudden, the notification icon for Internet Explorer has evaporated
out of my system tray.

I've gone to Manage Network Connections, right clicked on the Local Area
Connection icon, selected Properties, selected Properties for Internet
Protocol, and looked for the tick box that will force the notification icon
to show in the System Tray.

But there's no tick box that I can see. There used to be one in XP. But I
guess there's not one in Vista.

Any ideas?

Thanks

The icon is not for Internet Explorer, it is for prompting network
connection, whether you use Internet Explorer or not.

Yes, in VISTA, the is not check box to show or hide in network properties
dialog box, as WInXP does. It is moved to "TaskBar and Start Menu
Properties" dialog box. Right-click taskbar and select "Properties...".
select "Notification Area" tab. Do what you need there.

BTW, the question has nothing to do with .NET WIndow Form programming. You'd
have better luck in a related NGs next time.

Apparently people think that if a group has "windows" anywhere in its name
then it's fair game for Windows questions. In microsoft.public.reader,
people used to post about anything and everything. I guess they figured it
was a group for anyone who could read....
