Hello,
I use W2K SP4 and recently performed a windows update. After that all
the system-sounds (Ding, Systemstart, Systemshutdown...) were gone,
the PC-speaker beeps instead. All other sounds work properly. Even if
I test the sounds in controlpanel/sounds I can hear them.
It's not the microsoft registry thing (knowledge-base #262256) and it
is NOT user-specific.
When I deactivate and activate (without booting) the sound-card-driver
(SB LIVE WAVE, newest version) in device-manager, the system sounds
work until the next reboot.
Any ideas?
Thanks
