System Sounds

I cannot seem to get my system sounds to work.
All other audio is fine.
I have gone through control panel sounds settings and you
can hear them ok when you click to hear the sounds, but
they will not work automatically when system starts or
stops or any other sounds.
Thanks for any replys.

But did you set a sound to run in the/a program,you need to scroll
thru and select a sound per instance.
