System Restore Points

Now that everything seems to be working ok I went to
create a system restore point and noticed that all my
previous restore points have disappeared! I didn't reduce
the amount of memory used for system restore points, so
what causes the system to delete them? and what can I do
to override that "feature"?

This would have happened if the monitoring on the drive(s) was inadvertently
shut off. Only so many restore points can be stored.
