System Restore does not work...HELP PLEASE!

When I attempt to use System Restore I recieve the following
message..."Restoration Incomplete"..."Your computer cannot be restored to:
(date)"..."This restoration is is incomplete" What is wrong and how can I fix
this problem? Thank you.
