System freeze when printing

I have a problem when printing to a HP 1350 all in one printer. When
printing (mainly word document) the first one prints fine then if I try to
print another page I get a "not responding" message in the Word program and
the printer doesn't print anything. When I try to cancel the pending job in
printer it just says "deleting" and nothing happens. I have to restart the
spooler to clear it. Have tried reinstalling the printer- with no change.
I'm using Windows XP with all updates and current drivers.
I'd be glad for any advice or help. Thank you

I have to presume (since you don't tell us) that this is connected via
USB..... but is it a USB port on the motherboard, on a PCI card, on a hub -
and if a hub, powered or unpowered?

Hello Cari,
I'm sorry but I'm not too sure what your question means, so I hope the
following helps. In the properties for the printer the following is checked.
Port: USB001
Decription: Virtual printer port for USB
Printer: hp psc 1300 series
