Syncing with website

R

Ron McIntire

Here's my situation. FP2002, FP extentions.
I have started making changes to my site while on line.
edit with FP option. The problem I now have is when I work
on the site off line and publish I loos everything that I
did while working online. How do I sync with my changes
that I made live with wat's on my hard drive?

One more question. I am trying desperatly to get my
subwebs to work properly. What is the correct method of
starting a new subweb? Should I go to new / web or page /
while I have my main site open? Or should it be closed?

Thank-You for your help.

In FP2002 and earlier, you'll need to identify the files
you changes on-line and publish them individually back to
your off-line Web. Viewing the All Files report and
sorting by date modified may be helpful.

If FP2003, select Synchronize in Remote Site View and then
click Publish. Both Webs will end up with the newest
versions from either source. (to die for, no?)

Doesns't matter: either will work.

I usually open the parent Web, create a new folder, right-
click the folder, and choose Convert to Web.

But going through File, New, Page or Web is just as good.

Jim,
Thanks for the assist. I just assumed that it would do it
automatically. I was very surprised when I lost everything
that I had changed.
Once again Thank-You for being there to help us.

1. When working on the live site on the remote server, you need to publish
down to your local machine before making any additional changes in your
local copy.

2. To create subwebs, just have the web open in FP, create a folder, then
right click and convert to web.
