Developing a parallel website

N

I have a large website with a number of subwebs which has become clumsy and
"broken" in some areas over the years. I have recently upgraded to XP and
FP2003 and want to rewrite the sot from the ground up using the newer
features such as DWTs and also incorporating some Acess databases. However I
need to maintain the old site while this is done.Currently I maintain the
site on my PC and publish to my ISP with FP extensions.

To test my new site in the development stage am I better off publishuing it
to my ISP or by installing IIS and personal webserver software and
publishing to my own PC?

Can I independently publish my new web as a subweb on the remote site? If so
what happens when I next publish my old web and it sees an additional subweb
at the remote site?

Thank you

this depends on you. try it on the local server. if it's not dificult use
it if not just make your new web in a subweb on your local computer and the
server.

It'll be fine. as long as it's a subweb fp will leave it alone. watch the
dialog box during publishing.
