Symantec LiveUpdate

I'm not sure that this is the right forum for this question, but here goes ...

LiveUpdate works OK with my Windows ME system but when I use it on Window XP
Home, the SYMANTEC COMMON CLIENT UPDATES download and decrompress OK but always
fail to install with messages shown below.

Can anyone help?

Apparently you have an outdated file that Norton cannot
overwrite. I had the problem and many others did, too.
Norton will not give you any answer except to unistall
NSW then try to reinstall. It is very difficult to
unistall NSW and reinstall. Just bypass the SYMANTEC
COMMON CLIENT UPDATES as NSW will continue to work and
that includes NAV. I tried all ways to unistall and will
not use NORTON or any product of theirs again!!!
