switching from domain to workgroup...

I have a sever which from the even log appears to have had Active directory installed (Domain) and I noticed the server properties states it is a workgroup.
My question is if the server was originally setup to be a domain controller in a new domain and the users simply went into the network properties and change it to a work group what kind of erroes should I expect

These are just a few I am receiving..

This can occur if someone installed Admission Control Services and not
configured it properly.
Or bad settings in the QoS service.

I don't think the server is set up as a domain controller. If it were, you
would see "The identification of the computer cannot be changed because the
computer is a domain controller" on the network ID tab of the system
properties. More likely the computer is a standalone server in a workgroup
called workgroup.

Sorry for the large post here. I cannot help but feel I am not getting
ALL the information from the users I need.
