I am running Windows XP home with SP2 and have all the latest updates.
When I turn on my PC in the morning, the PC is incredibly slow. Once
Outlook is automatically booted, everything else I want to load (Including
internet explorer or explorer) takes minutes - the system is essentially
busy. If I look at Task Manager, I can see that one svchost.exe program is
taking up 100% of the cpu cycles. The user name is System and the file size
varies between 90K and 120K. This goes on and on unless i remove the
process. If I select to remove the process, everything works OK - I think!
How can I find out what program/service the svchost.exe is loading and why
it seems to go on forever.
Help.
