I am using windows XP pro. SP2. I keep getting this error message: The
instruction at "0x7c91103c" referenced memory at "0X00000000". The memory
could not be "written". I am also getting another message: Generic Host
Process for Win32 Services has encountered a problem and needs to close. We
are sorry for the inconvenience. Needless to say when I receive these
messages the computer locks up and I have to restart.

1... First, try to clean up your caches, Internet files and delete cookies

On the IE properties windows you will see these Taps:

Advanced
Under General Tab clear your History, Internet Files and Cookies.
Then click on Advanced tab and scroll down to under the Browsing Option:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) uncheck this box.
Then click on Programs Tab and click Manage Add-Ons and Disable all non
Verified Add-Ons (You should Renable them later one-by-one and see the
culprit and update it or remove it.

2.. Download the Hijackthis and send the report to one of many
forums for analysis and troubleshooting:
When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. Post
your log to http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30,

3... Run a test for the Memory and also try to swap them around and clear any

To test your memory download memtest from here:

We've been investigating the same problem at work for a while now.

Its almost certainly related to the widespread Windows Update breaking
your WMI service problem.

It is described in some part in the following Microsoft knowledgebase
article
See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/916089/

However rather than apply the above patch, you will almost certainly
have more luck with the following update patch which is related to the
same problem.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927891

The 2nd recommended patch i believe will ONLY install on an SP2 PC
(which you have). For reference the patch updates your msi.dll file to
a later version, and in our case immediately resolved the problem.
