Suspected Spyware Reports Not Getting Out

R

Rich

There IS spyware on my machine, as each morning's scan
reports new ones found/loaded overnight, with NO new
applications having been (intentionally) installed...

There are two unkown processes running now, located in
the C:\windows\system32 directory (by the Advanced Tools-
Running Processes Tab within MS-AS(Beta-1))
....they are galwlhfn.exe and mnfogvxh.exe
- neither returns ANY hits on a google search, so I am
reasonably confident they are 'random' filenames created
by malware, likely calling or installing other spyware
from internet sources.

HOWEVER, attempts to use the "Suspected Spyware"
reporting tool always result in an error: "An error
occurred submitting the scan results. Please check you
(sic) Internet proxy settings and try again."

There is no "proxy" setting to check, we are on a small
office LAN with DSL and a router, which is undoubtedly a
firewall problem, but which cannot and will not be solved
by anyone here, as we have no IT person.

Microsoft NEEDS to program a way around this, by using an
email or passive method that can use a secondary or
manual method to save a file - to allow the user to
attach it to an email or otherwise manually submit
reports.

Also, proof-read (not just spell-check) your alerts and
error messages.

Same "exact" issues still here too. I've renamed one new
unknown file in my \system32 folder, "jnbyzqkv6.exe" with
a .sav extension just in case it's valid. MS-AS did not
ID it as spyware, but I keep getting fresh infections.
Cannot send a suspect report due to same "proxy" error.

Typo: "Scan Sucessfull" should read: "Scan Successful" in
dialog box title.

Bug: After error trying to send a Suspected Spyware
Report, cannot send, cannot see the Raw file, cannot view
the Data collection policy, and cannot close the window.
Finally get:
"This action cannot be completed because the other
application is busy. Choose "switch to" to activate the
busy application and correct the problem."
There is no problem, and clicking Switch to... does not.

Sorry, no fix for it, this issue has occurred on a few machine. Just have
wait on a later build or beta 2 to see a fix.

Like Andre, I don't have a fix for your issues with the program.

Check out the Announcements message from Ron Kinner, though--that should be
a good route to getting this cleaned.
