Suspected Spyware Report

Hi,

I have installed the latest version of the beta 1.0.501
and when I try to submit a suspected spyware report, an
error message pops up that it is unable to send the
report due to a proxy error. I do not have any proxy,
and don't have any problems accessing the internet.

What might be wrong??

Actually there is a newer version. Simply go to
www.Microsoft.com/Spyware and redownload the program to
update it.

Please let us know if the newer version solves this one. I've yet to manage
to fix this one, although I do have a test case machine. Unfortunately, it
is some miles away, and I can only work with it outside of normal office
hours, which somewhat limits the things I am trying out as fixes.

I installed the newer version last night, seeing that
people had referenced the newer version. Unfortunately
the same problem occurs. Submissions cannot be sent via
the tool.

Sorry. My sense of this at the moment is that this tool is completely
broken on some machines. I've seen it on both XP Home and XP Pro, and have
one test machine which exhibits the behavior at the moment. Nothing I've
tried thus far has fixed the problem.

This machine doesn't have other issues--i.e. it gets definition updates via
either manual or automatic, just fine, etc.

It and a number of other machines that work just fine are behind ISA 2000
firewall. The machine in question is a retail XP Pro upgrade over OEM
Windows 2000, and I have another machine with the same upgrade path which
doesn't have the problem.
