Strange problem in MS EXCEL

D

Dharmesh

I am facing a strange problem in MS EXCEL. Whenever I open worksheets that
are linked to other worksheets, I get a message "This workbook contains one
or more links that cannot be updated" and I get 2 options i.e. "Continue" &
"Edit Links".

However, once I select "Continue" ( since all my linked worksheets are on
its place), the file gets updated without making any changes in the linked
worksheets.

What could be the cause for this problem & what can be the solution ? Pls
provide the same as soon as possible.

Hi Dharmesh,

I am assuming that you are using Excel 2003.
You can use Edit-->Links option and look at each link separately.
Select each link from the list, select open source
close the opened workbook and repeat the same for all the links.

There must be a broken link somewhere.

Also if your source files are on a network drive and if you have mapped the
network drive under different name it may be causing the problem.

HTH.

Dear Pranav,

Thanks a lot. But the file that I have is very huge file & contains many
links. Is this problem only with Excel 2003 ?

If I install new version of Excel, can this problem be resolved ?

Pls help or lte me know in case there is any other way to tackle this problem.
