Unable to paste

One of my excel file contains several worksheets. In one of the worksheet
when I copied a cell or range, I was unable to paste into another worksheet
or new workbook. The paste icon appears in dim grey and paste command in
edit also appears in dim grey.
However, when the very same file is opened in another pc, there is no
problem of pasting. How to solve this problem?
I ve re-install the microsoft program but to no avail.
Pls help and thanks.

Are you sure you do not have a macro on your PC that disables the paste
button? And what happens when you do <Ctrl><C>, and paste with <Ctrl><V>?
