I have automatic updates disabled -- intentionally.
How can I stop the warning I get about this every
time I log on?
Thanks,
Mike.

Don't reboot?
How about enabling AU but selecting the Notify Only setting so you'll be
sure to know when a critical security update is available (which you can
then decline to download but then install manually via Windows Update
website)? See...

What is wrong with williamtell's answer? Is there a problem with that?
Did you reboot after changing setting?

Thanks, but neither suggestion is appropriate. I update manually every
now and then. Also, I have an information source that informs me when
there is something that is really critical.
Mike.
Nothing is wrong with willamtell's answer. I did what he said, and
it worked.
My comment that "neither is appropriate" applies to PA Bear's suggestions.
They may be appropriate for some, but not for me.
Mike.
PA Bear said:Well, I doesn't think it's OK to have AU disabled and rely on other sources
to tell you if a critical security update is available so I'm not going to
tell you how to disable AU permanently, sorry.
