Jimmy, So how do I perform any of the suggested actions? Help

The machine will not boot in safe mode. Recovery console will load, but what actions can I take to isolate the casualty? Or which files can I edit in recovery console that will alter the Win2k boot process to boot less drivers than 'sae mode'? Which file do I edit to disable antivirus software
