Sticky keys

Like Tim T asked on 1-13-07, I sometimes accidentally activate sticky keys
and I can not get them turned off. HELP says to unselect them in Control
Panel-Accessibility. However, my Control Panel does not have an
Accessibility icon so I can not disable sticky keys there. The only way I
can get out of sticky keys is to shutdown or reboot. Does anyone have a
solution for how I can disable Accessibility functions or somehow immediately
turn off sticky keys when I unintentionally get them turned on?

Start | Run | access.cpl
Untick "Sticky Keys" *+* Click first Settings button, Untick "Use Shortcut", Click OK
twice

If you are unable to access Accessibility option through Control Panel or Run
command, try pressing Shift key 5 times to bring up the dialog box of Sticky
Key. If it is already running, then pressing the Shift Key 5 times will make
it turn off.

Hope this help, let us know!

Pressing the shift key 5 times brings up a dialog box asking if you want to
continue sticky keys on or off. Clicking off has no effect. Is there a way
to get Accessibility icon back in Control Panel? I am sure it was there at
one time.

Reading up on Sticky Keys, you can turn them off easily by pressing
Ctrl/X. Actually, any "modifier" key and a standard key. So Alt/V
would turn off Sticky Keys also.

Try this:

1. Click Start - Run - type REGEDIT and press Enter key.
2. Expand To:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

3. If there is any entry like "DisallowCPL" in right-side pane delete it or
any SubKey with DisallowCpl - delete it.

Hope this help, let us know!

I deleted DisallowCpl in the left pane list and have not experienced any good
or bad operational/performance changes. There is still no Accessibility icon
in Control Panel and 5 taps of the Shift key still brings up the "Sticky key"
dialog box. So I guess nothing has changed.
