Sticky keys problem

Hello

I'm playing a game where left shift is the fire button...5 clicks crashes the program. Yes, I know it is the sticky keys short cut. They are by default on...only god knows why...

The problem is that I cannot turn it off. The box appears with the option settings but the settings button does not open anything. Also in my control panel there is no icon for Accessibility options. So there is no way of disabling the shortcut to sticky keys. Furthermore, if I go to the Add/Remove Windows Components, the Accessibility options are not there, they cannot be restored

I have a feeling that I somehow removed them when I got this PC. The question is how to get them back so that I can unable the Sticky keys shortcut. Or if that is possible without the Accessibility options I would be just as happy

Running XP Home edition with Service pack 1

Many thanks

I also had the same thing happen. Go to Start- Control Panel-
Accessability Options. It is in there. Un check everything for
sticky fingers. Good Luck!

If you have the service pack installed for XP, download the TweakUI, it has a repair
for the control panel.

Can you access the Accessibility options through the program menu?

Hi

I did not have the Control panel program access.cpl on that PC at all. And I could not find any way to restore it
The solution was simple. I copied the access.cpl from my other PC and run it. Then I was able to uncheck the "Use shortcut" option. Simple but did not come to my mind at first

Thanks anyway...
