Stickeys Keys

While playing a game (I use shift key as "forward") if I hold the key down
very long I get a popup that asks me if I want to use sticky keys. If I
press cancel the next key I hit stays stuck and if I hit accept, my keyboard
does nothing.
I have gone into accessories and made sure everything under sticky keys is
unchecked. Is there a way to keep this from happening ?

When the the Acessibility Options Control Panel for Sticky keys click
the Settings button and uncheck Use Shortcut and do the same thing for
Filter Keys Settings.
