Steps to repair a ppt file

Software : MS - Powerpoint 2000
File size: 16 mb

When I am working with Powerpoint, the following alert
appears & power point comes end. After this occation I
couldn't open the file. This presentation file consists of
15 product photograps & it is an important one to send to
our customer end presentation.

Error message : Powerpoint can't open the type of the
represented by <<file name>>

How can I repair/recall this file.

The other one is for Mac, which you probably shouldn't use. I got caught on
this one before.
