Startup Error Message!!!

When I resume from HIbernation or if I Restart or Startup my computer from
being shutdown, I receive an error message telling me that my SYSTEM BATTERY
VOLTAGE IS LOW and I can hit F1 to startup anyway, or F2 for the setup
utility.

I went through the setup utility but found nothing related to the battery on
the motherboard. I have a Dell Dimension 8400 with XP Media Center 2002 SP 2.

Intel Pentium 4 w/ 3.4 GHZ and 1 GB RAM.

Please help!!!

There is a very small battery which keeps the clock going.
The location is shown in the computer manual.

Hi, Battery Voltage Low.

First question: What does Dell say?

Do you use a Backup Power Supply? Does WinXP think that you do? What does
it say in Control Panel | Power Options?

I have no idea what Dell says, I have not attempted to receive help via
Dell...yet. I was hoping to iron out the issue here.

Also, I do not have an UPS and my computer is set for "Always On". Since it
is a desktop with plenty of RAM and GHz, I didn't think this was an issue for
my problem. Another person informed me there is a small battery for the
internal clock and that might be the issue.

Well you helped me alot, Jim. I went to the Dell website and found what you
were referring to, I now know how to replace the battery and that I need a
3-V CR2032 lithium coin cell.

The manual on the website informed me that if you change the date/time
settings several times, then the battery will need to be replaced quicker.

Thanks for the help!
