Start-up problem - continual display of message box

I run Windows XP Home Edition with SP2. Every time I log onto my user
account and the programmes start to load up I get a message box "WINDOWS -
NO DISK". There is nothing I can do to continue with the loading of
programmes but to repeatedly press "Continue" or repeatedly
press the 'x' to close the message box. Eventually it closes and
the remaining programmes complete their loading.

If I go through "Task Manager" and select the 'process' that relates to the
message box the file it locates is "csrss.exe" which relates to the
'Client Server Runtime Process'. In searching for this file I have two,
both being the same version number. One is located in 'Windows\system32'
(this being the original file but then modified?) and the other sits in the
'Windows\servicepackfiles\i386' which gives the creation date as that of the
modified file in Windows\system32 directory.

Any ideas to stop this message box continually popping up.... it's driving
me mad??? Any help would be much appreciated. Many thanks in anticipation!

Troubleshoot your startup items.
1) Run msconfig.exe
2) Switch to the Startup Tab in it.
3) Remove the Checkmark beside every item.
4) Reboot. Does the message box appear?

If not:
5) Run msconfig.exe
6) Switch to the Startup Tab in it.
7) Add a checkmarl to ONE item only.
8) Reboot. Does the message box appear?
Repeat steps 5 thru 8 until the message box does appear at bootup
and the last item reactivated is your suspect.
