Hello,

Perhaps you might want to try deleting all the shortcuts in the Recent menu
(except Desktop.ini)

My suspicion is that one of the shortcuts is pointing to a network drive.

Somebody will have to advise us whether there are any other alternatives to
your problem.

Does this appear in safe Mode if you tried?.
Scan for malwares on your system and be sure there is no corruption for a
file or a shortcut pointing to this file/folder.
Run a chkdsk on your drive.
HTH.
Let us know.

So That Confirm that there is a shortcut corrupted try to Put them back One
-By-one and see which Shortcut will cause the Hang-up.
Look for the shortcut for a floppy or CD that can cause this sort of Hang up
as they don't exist on your HDD, they need to be read and opened from their
prospective Storage device for the shortcut to open it right without hangs.
