Standby issues

Hi ... Whenever i set my computer on standby it will go
into standby but when I wake up its never stay in standby
mode ... Any idea why standby doesn't stay that way ? TIA

Check the power settings.
Open Control Panel>Perf/Maint>Power
Options - Power Schemes and change System Standby to
Never or whatever time span you want.

Hi ... It is on never and i am having this problem ,

Since you've told us nothing about your computer, it's impossible to
give you a specific answer. However, you probably have something that
is being polled regularly which "wakes" the computer. Wireless
keyboards and mice can do that.

If you want more detailed help, provide more information about your
computer.

Hi .. I'm sorry but i don't know much about computer as
to what i should mention , If you could give me some idea
i might be able to answer ... I do have a cordless mouse
but not a keyboard ... I have my anti-virus program to
scan in the afternoon and also to recieve updates ...

Wireless devices like cordless mice send a signal on regular intervals
polling the computer. This is enough to wake it from standby. If you
are leaving your computer for the night, why not just shut it off?
