System standy by

Frequently when my computer goes on standby, I can't get it wake up. I can
see that the computer is still on as the lights are still on. No matter what
jey I press, it will not wake up. I end up having to reboot. Oddly, it
doesn't do this all the time. How do I eliminate or get around having to
reboot short of changing the setting to never go on standby

Do you have your mouse set to 'wake from standby'? Does the keyboard AND
mouse both fail to bring the PC out of standby?

you might want to
consider the hibernation
power mode to manage
the computers power
state

and then use the screensaver
power options to set
the computer in standby
for short lapses of
inactivity.

Most of the time the mouse or keyboard will bring the computer out of standby
but occasionally neither one of them will even though the computer is
obviously still on, Then I have to re-boot
