Dissapearing task bar

Hi,
just recently my Task Bar (you know, the strip at the bottom of the
screen with the clock etc.) has started to disappear. It usually happens
when the laptop has gone to standby and I "waken it up" - suddenly the task
bar has gone!!! If I restart the laptop it comes back again,,,, and it may
stay for a while (even after going into standy/wake-up several times) but
will disappear again within a day. Any adeas on what is going on here???
