Standby - 45 minute problem

This is an old issue that I thought was fixed. System won't go to
Standby if set for >45 minutes. Seem to recall under SP1 there was some
workaround like changing a Registry key or disabling the Idle Task
Scheduler that worked for me. MS support says install the latest service
pack. I already have SP2. Any ideas?

Thanks much.

Set a shorter standby period? You could spend your life looking for, and
finding, Windows funnies. Is it necessary?

Good point, thanks for the response. Still, it's hard to resist tinkering...
