spyware not removing a detected virus

I run spyware every night and several times in succession
because it reports an Egroup dialer Virus which it
purports to delete each time.I always finds it the next
time it runs. I have tried manual removal of the listed
components of this spyware using Regsvr 32 and regedit to
clean the registry and windows explorer to locate and
remove the ieaccess2.dll but in all cases, none of the
components of the virus can be found. Yet the spyware
still reports it. I am running the beta version, has
anyone else noticed this problem?

You need an Antivirus utility, Microsoft AntiSpyware, is for AntiSpyware
removal, not virus removal.

Here is some help on Egroup from Andy Manchesta:
Try ewido security suite or online virus scanners as they
will perform better with Dialers

Also reset your web settings and delete all temp files on
your system

Heres some info on Egroup

ware.instantaccess.html

aler.instantaccess.html

For online scanners use Trend or Panda

Trend Micro http://housecall.antivirus.com/

Panda http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/

Download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here

http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

Install ewido.
During the installation, under "Additional Options"
uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via
context menu".
Launch ewido
It will prompt you to update click the OK button and it
will go to the main screen
On the left side of the main screen click update
Click on Start and let it update.

Run the scanner in safe mode also use MSAntispy in safe
mode!

Reboot and keep tapping F8 then choose safe mode from the
list

To remove temp files

Open a IE Window and goto tools on the top bar then goto
Internet options and on the page that opens press delete
files- include all offline content when deleting files,
Then goto the programs tab and press Reset Web Settings

Then goto start menu and run and type

%temp%

delete the contents of this folder

You should be clean again if you follow these steps but
reply if you have problems

Regards Andy

Can you see any specifics of what files or entries the detection relates to?

One approach would be to restart in safe mode and do full, deep scans, with
Microsoft Antispyware, until such a scan comes through clean. It is wise to
also do the same with your updated antivirus.
