spontaneous restarts when online

I wonder if anyone has had similar experiences?

I am running XP on an Athlon. When I am browsing (online)
using IE 6 occasionally when i click on a link (not the
same link) the computer restarts. I wonder if there is a
malfunction in my machine or maybe a virus?

There is no countdown like with Blasterworm and I am
running Norton Internet Security and Norton Antivirus
both of which are up to date and have found nothing.

I dont think that heat is the problem - I can hear the
fan working and crucially it only restarts when online.

Any ideas appreciated.

Does sound like the recent virus going around

I heard that www.mcafee.com have a free bit of software
called stinger. try that! otherwise www.sophos.com gives
you a free trial of antivirus which i have found
esceptional
