Spellcheck errors

When I am in Outlook 2003 using Word as the editor, I sometimes suggest a
spelling for a flagged misspelling that is itself misspelled. But instead of
getting the dialog box: "You have chosen a word that is not in the main or
customary dictionaries..... sometimes (not always or even usually) Spellcheck
accepts my misspelling. In Outlook, the email is often then sent with the
embarrassing misspelling. I know these often blatant misspellings are not in
my main or custom Word dictionaries. Is there any help for me?

do you have spell check as you try turned on so you can see misspellings as
you make them? are you using a signature? if you type in the signature area,
it's not spell checked. If you r-click on the misspelled word and see the
signature menu, this is definitely the problem.
