Spell Check won't work and Grammer Check Grayed out.

Word 2003. Started new Document. A few pages into it i ran spell check and it
found no errors even though i had mispelled a word. Went to tools and spell
check is checked. Grammer check is grayed out. Checked other documents and
every thing works. Help!

Check that the text you have entered has not got the "do not spell or grammar
check" setting applied.
Select the whole document (Ctrl+A), then go to Tools, Language, Set
Language, click the language you want, and then clear the box at the bootom
of the dialog.
Also clear the "detect langauge automatically" for good measure.
If this is the case, check that the style(s) you have been using do not have
this setting applied.
