speech to text

Hi Folks Can you help, need a bit of your thinking time. Running WXP Pro
with lots of office apps recently got a voice recognition recorder as a
present. the buyer was under the impression that it would put the voice
output as text on the screen. whose a silly billy then. So now I need a
speech to text application that will take the voice output direct to the
screen as the typed word. any ideas without loosing my left leg.
