SP4 Timed Out -- No install???

If I was in the process of downloading/installing the SP4
update (which was the express install for end users), I
didn't do a backup (as I didn't want to take up that much
disk space) and the download timed out (after which I did
cancel) ... did this mean nothing installed (I hope)?

Because of all the latest virus scares, I was doing the
updates, on Friday, when I ran into trouble downloading
this update. Then I found an area that said you should not
install update MS03-026 (823980) before installing SP4
(which I have since found out has already been installed).

Will my system reboot okay (been too afraid to reboot)?

Assuming I "may" be okay ... is there a way to still do
this SP4 update? Is this SP4 necessary?

THANK YOU so much for your timely advice. LOTS of
information.

I do have another question ... if I start the download
again, will this be a new download (will I have the
opportunity to tell it to back up everything) or will it
pick up from where it left off before I canceled?

You shoud be ok to reboot. SP4 was not installed on your Computer as you
cancelled the Install manually.

MS03-026 (823980) only needs SP2 (the Info was updated: "V1.4 (August 12,
2003): Updated to include information about Windows 2000 Service Pack 2
support for this patch and updated bulletin with additonal workaround
information." -

However, it's always a good idea for home users to have the latest Service
Pack installed.

I suggest that you should download and install the Network Installation of
Windows 2000 SP4.
