SP2 & problems with ZoneAlarm5

I took someone's advice on one of these MS NGS and removed ZoneAlarm 5 from
my PC/w WXP-homeSP2 and the IE problems ceased. I did have the XP firewall
disabled since I liked ZoneAlarm better. This seems to be a known problem
with WXP SP2 & ZoneAlarm5.

BTW, these are the anti-scumware programs we have on this PC. None of them
found anything - Some just innoculate against infestations.

Spybot
Adware
Norton AV & WinDr.
StartupInspector
SpywareBlaster
BHODeamon
CodeStuffStarter
HijackThis
CWShredder
ZoneAlarm <--- removed.

No one can say we're not "trying" to keep this PC secure.

According to the Zonelabs web site:

"Microsoft has released a new version of Windows XP called Service Pack 2 (SP2). All
ZoneAlarm products (5.1 and higher) are compatible with XP SP2."

So, if you didn't have the latest update of version 5.*, you might want to try that before
giving up on Zone Alarm. I'm using the free version of Zone Alarm, and on the preferences
tab there's a Check For Updates button. When I have updated, the new version installed on
the fly without having to uninstall the previous version, retaining all of my program
settings and options settings.

Any advise given is my attempt to show appreciation for all
the excellent help I've received here but I'm no MVP so it
may only apply NUGS (Normally, Usually, Generally, Sometimes :)
