SP2 and Shutdown

Just installed the SP2 update. Now, when I go to Shutdown, my computer hangs.
It won't shutdown unless I manually press the power button. Thoughts?

Likely a Service or application is hanging. After SP2 you should do
a Windows Update (.Jpeg issue), an Office Update and check for
updates to your primary hardware (Video, Sound, NIC) and also
applications like Adobe Reader, Sun Java... These routine types of
maintenance updates should be done probably 2-3 times a year.
Video is important, since SP2 updates DirectX to version 9.0c.
It's good to update all your Security based software so it can hook
properly into Security Center.

It takes some time to locate download/driver sites but vendors are
now posting Sp2 compliant patches for their hardware & software.

Do some clean boot troubleshooting to try to identify what is causing
the hangup:

A probable cause is that your installation found the BIOS does not
adequately support the 'Advanced Configuration & Power Interface'
(ACPI). It then installs the older APM, but leaves it disabled. Go to
Control Panel - Power Options, and if there is an APM page, check
'Enable APM' on it.
