sp2 and automatic updates

here is the problem Automatic updates was downloading sp2. during the
download process by mistake i truned AU off and when i turned AU back on. it
now tells me that sp2 is ready to install. what will happen if i click
install and sp2 hasnt fully downloaded or how can i cancle out what AU has
started to download. i have the sp2 cd and want to use it .if i use the cd to
install sp2 will it cancle out what AU has started to download what can i do
to fix the problem and still be able to use AU when sp2 is installed?
