SP 2 problem again

Downloaded it automatically yesterday. Now my newsgroup
binaries don't work. I'm using Zone Alarm, but turning it
off doesn't help. I tried using MS firewall insteaed and
looked to make an exception for the newsgroup per a
suggestion made yesterday to a previous post, but I can't
seem to make an exception for a newsgroup. So I went back
to Zone Alarm. This has to have something to do with SP 2
as I've never had this problem before. Tried a system
restore but it was unsuccessful. Help!

Try this, disable the MS firewall alltogether, just use
your Zone Alarm,The new features in MS firewall may be
blocking you out.Zone Alarm is a very good firewall,I
also read somewhere that you should not use two firewalls
together,i'll look it up and post it on this tread when I
find it.

The exception should be for the newsreader.exe, if using OE then it
would be msimn.exe. Also, open your connection properties, select
tcp/ip properties, general tab, advanced button, options tab, properties
button. The TCP/IP filtering should show permit all for all protocols.
If it says permit only, then first select the enable checkbox, change
protocols to permit all, then uncheck the filtering checkbox.
