Soundcard driver occures DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL crash

After updating the fireware on the DVD-rewriter (a Toshiba DVD SD-R6252),
windows xp crashed. After rebooting the system crashed on the following
driver: smwdm.sys at address FA3B2424 base at FA39A000, datestamp 3F5F6EBA.
After running System Information I found out that smwdm.sys is for my
integrated soundcard. Since I'm using a notebook I can't install a
pci-soundcard.

While playing a DVD, windows crashed (occured the
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL crash). And after leaving it the notebook on
for about 2 hours it crashed again.

Probably it started after the fireware update of the DVD-recorder but it
shouldn't have affected the souncard-driver according to my knowledge.

Any suggestions?

grtz

Nothing their replies to my soundcard problem. It might be a corrupt driver
but it worked fine before the update. A damaged page-file could be caused by
what? A crash perhaps...
