All of a sudden, when a I try to play a CD the music is
kind of garbled and echoes. Any help would be

Try this for starters : If you have a microphone connected : Right Click on
the loudspeaker icone in the taskbar > Options > Properties > Recording >
make sure the volume slider is all the way down for the microhpone - its
possibly feeding back your speaker noise.

Cheers,
Jerry

If you also have a secondary music program, like Avance
Sound Manager, you may have inadvertently turned on a
special effect/echo in the equalizer section. (Only took
me a week to figure out I did!)
