Sound Events

When setting the Sound Events to put my own scheme in the sound box
like, select,menu popup,question,logon,log off,open program...there is
one listing, "Show Toolbar Band", that I never hear any sound associated
with it. Do you know what its for or when it should come on?

I looked on Google and Microsoft Knowledge Base and couldn't find any info.

Its in there for something, does anyone know? This one "Show Toolbar
Band" is mysterious.

I like having sounds confirming an operation.

Thanks,

According to PC World:

"If you want audible confirmation that you've double-clicked in the
right place when resizing toolbars (or if you just like sound effects),
choose Start, Settings, Control Panel and double-click the Sounds
(Windows 9x) or Sounds and Multimedia (Windows 2000) icon. In the Events
list, select Show Toolbar Band and pick a sound from the Name drop-down
list; or click Browse in the Events list, select a .wav file, and click
OK. Then click OK to close the Sound Properties box. Your sound will
play the next time you double-click a toolbar divider or name.
Unfortunately, this sound effect doesn't work in Windows 9x with IE 5 or
in Windows 98 SE."

I checked it out by enabling a sound for it then I unlocked my Taskbar
and double clicked on one of the divider bars next to the Start button
(in the Quick Launch area) and it plays the sound, so that seems to be
the right explanation for the sound event.

You're right!

Thanks John for doing the detective work to figure this out.

I never knew of double clicking on the bar between the quick launch
would do that and resize the icons or taskbar, I only thought it could
be dragged to make smaller, now I know what else it can do.

Thanks this is a cool FX just to have extra, now all the sounds are
loaded up in Win2K!
