Sonic Update Manager

I downloaded some programs off the internet to improve the speed of my
computer. After doing so when I start my computer it asks me to insert a disc
for the Sonic Update Manager. I don't have one/know what that is, and if I
click cancel it just brings the message up again for an uneding circle. I
uninstalled the software, but the problem still remains.

Which programs ? - Registry cleaner perhaps. You've inadvertently caused
damage that causes the Sonic Update Manager to try and repair itself. It's
seeking the installation media ( .Msi ). This prompting for the disk will
not
go away by uninstalling the "Cleaners". By uninstalling the apps you've now
got another issue in that the changes made by the program are likely gone
alone with the application. Most of these programs that promote themselves
as improving your computer's speed are worthless.
Sonic Update Manager is a automated tool to obtain or detect available
updates for Sonic CD/DVD Burning software.

Your best and highest probability of success is to use System Restore and
take the machine's state back a day or two. Some helpful info on SR here:

Exactly what programs were they? Almost all such programs are nothing
but snake oil. They are far more likely to cause a problem than to
solve one. You've apparently fallen victim to such a problem.

Try System Restore to a date before you installed these programs. Also
uninstall any such programs you have already uninstall, and stay away
from junk like this in the future.

There is no program you can download from the internet that will improve the
speed of your computer.
