Heh. Just a few posts down from yours is someone else with, maybe, the same
problem. And the issue there was, indeed, that Word was still open. The
problem would be that the mail program can't get ahold of the file because
Word still "owns" it.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU. I have been struggling with this for many hours and
over many projects. I had been leaving Word open.

I probably won't be able to help with the particulars, but maybe I can help
by requesting that you post some information that may help others to help you.

You should probably outline the exact steps you are going through when
trying to attach the mail. Someone may spot something you are doing which is
defeating you. You are saving the lyrics to the hard drive and closing the
Word (I assume that's the Office app you're using.) instance in which you
were editing the file, right?

I tried to send a file from word to make a email attachment .
There was no way to do it from word.
I called Frontiernet and they showed me a way to do it from Windows mail
through File attachment.
Then when I went to send it The error message came up some of the files did
not copy. I took the advice given below and close Word up and then the
attachment went through.
Why though can I not send it from Word to my email program by clicking on
send to . The box does not give me the option to send it out? I think I am
missing an association file or something that does not let me do it from
Word?
Can you help me with this

If you are trying to send from within Word, using the Email button, or
File - Send to.. Mail Recipient, those only work with Outlook.

You should be able to use File - Send To.. Mail Recipient (as attachment).
This will open the default email program, which is probably WM.

Very frustrating, indeed. You must save & close the file in Word. The other
option is to send your attachment from Word (i.e., Word is open, hit the
Circle logo thing (save, print, etc.) and choose option, " Send", and "Email".

I've been trying for about 3 months to find a command/option to change the
problem you describe.

My name is: Gord.

I am trying to send the contents of two separate files. One is letter #1; &
the other is letter #2. I've created two attachments for one e-mail.
Also, I have both attached files opened & minimized. They are in different
sections. One is in Documents: while the other is in Word. Could this be the
problem? Maybe I should send two separate e-mails. Then in the future, I
will combine both compositions; & be better prepared in the future. Thank
you.
The writings below, are from a different person.

Try closing the files and then attach them. There may be a permissions
issue trying to attach a file when it is open.

That's right, I could not send the attachment because the dic was still open
and minimised. I've done this mistake before on Vista, never noticed it with
xp.

Hi Hero and Others -

The solution turned out to be very easy - I was trying to send an Excel file
which I had saved to the hard drive, as an attachment to an email. I got the
error message when I clicked "Send". I found out that I had the original
document still open. When I closed it, the message, with attachment, was sent
very happily.

I had to close all word related documents and for some reason it worked. now
I know what I have to do when I attach a .doc file :)

Hi there,

I am trying to send a word file that contains song lyrics to a member of my
band. I am using Vista and Office Home & Student 2007 and each time I try and
attach the file it states that

'Some of the files could not be found, and could not be attached to the
message. Would you like to send the message anyway?'

Could somebody spread some light on this for me please. I am not using
office for a commercial purpose at all

Paul
