Software Validation

My Windows XP Home edition was preloaded on the computer I purchased and I
only received Restore CD's with the unit. The computer crashed during a
System Restore and would not boot ("Load Error!"). To get the system to
reboot I used a neighbors OEM Windows XP Home edition CD and then did a
System Restore with the Restore CD's that came with my computer. When I go
to the XP Home Edition dowloads/updates I must validate my software prior to
getting the downloads. When I run the automatic validation or if I answer
all the questions in the manual validation section the software will not
validate. How do I resolve this so I can get the updates?
