Windows XP Home Repair

Guest

I have a laptop running Windows XP Home and I need to do a repair. Windows starts to boot and then it reboots. I have tried booting in safe mode but still get the same result. I believe I need to perform a repair with the Windows Install disk. The laptop came pre-installed with Windows XP and all I recieved from the manufacturer was a set of completed restore CD's. I don't want to do a restore but rather a repair. I have the product key label for Windows XP Home Edition but no software to execute the repair. Any help would be appreciated.

Dave;
You can not use another Windows XP CD because the Product Key will not
work.
You need to contact the manufacturer and or check the manual for your
options.
Many OEMs have determined their customers do not need that feature as
well as other features.

Hello
You can not do a repair with the restore disks, however some computers come
from the factory with hidden partitions with a repair option on the, I
believe the key is F10, try tapping this key at boot before the windows
screen appears.

The only option the restore disks offer is to return the computer to the
original state at the time of purchase.
